Steamy Saturday
It is another very humid day across Central Alabama as our dew points are in the lower 70s for most spots. Showers and storms are developing across portions of the state, but as expected, they are not as widespread as we have seen through the week. It certainly is hot outside and most locations are flirting with 90 this afternoon. We do note that locations in eastern Mississippi are cooler, but that is because of the showers and storms in those areas.
Speaking of showers and storms, at quick look at the radar shows active weather this afternoon, but not like we’ve seen the past few days. With the main moisture axis west of the state, the main convection is over the Mississippi Valley. However, the atmosphere over the state is allowing convection to develop. Most activity has been over South and Southwest Alabama, with a few showers and storms popping-up in Central Alabama. The general motion of the storms is towards the north.
For tomorrow, we are expecting the rain chances to continue to come down, while those afternoon highs will be a few degrees warmer. It will be hot and humid Sunday and if there is any heat relief, it will come from those isolated, mainly afternoon showers and storms. Look for highs in the lower 90s area wide tomorrow.
