| October 13, 2014 @ 11:29 am

We are still looking at a signifiant severe weather threat for Alabama this afternoon, tonight, into tomorrow morning. Scroll down for the full meteorological discussion.

Scattered storms, some severe, will begin to form over the western half of Alabama after 3:00 p.m. Then, an organized line of severe storms will move through after midnight. It will take a long time for the line of storms to move through; it could be mid-morning tomorrow before they clear the Georgia border.

The highest risk of tornadoes will come this afternoon and early tonight over West Alabama; the main threat with the line of storms after midnight will come from damaging straight line winds.
