Severe Thunderstorm Watch Just to Our Northwest
We continue to watch a complex of strong and severe storms to our northwest as it continues to move towards the southeast along a frontal boundary that stretches across the area. The latest watch from the SPC makes it as far east as the Alabama/Mississippi State line, but at this time does not include any counties in Alabama.
The threat of severe weather continues today and through the overnight hours as all of North-Central Alabama remains outlined in a risk for severe weather. We expect to see strong and possibly severe storms later this afternoon across the state. These storms will be capable of producing torrential rainfall, hail, and damaging straight-line winds.
