**Today’s Weather Xtreme video will be produced this afternoon; back to the “two a day” schedule tomorrow**

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY: We have a few thunderstorms over Northeast Alabama early this morning at daybreak…

Not everybody gets wet today; we project a mix of sun and clouds with a high between 87 and 90. Interesting to note that Birmingham, at least based on data at the airport where records are kept, has yet to reach 90 degrees this year.

The chance of any one spot getting wet today will be about one in three.

REST OF THE WEEK: Not much change tomorrow through Friday. Partly sunny days, mostly fair nights, and each day the risk of a showers and storms in scattered spots. In a summer pattern like this, the storms tend to form at random locations, and they don’t move very much. While the best chance of a storm will come during the afternoon and evening hours, we can’t rule out a morning shower or thunderstorm somewhere, much like this morning.

Afternoon highs will remain in the 87 to 90 degree range most afternoons.

WEEKEND PEEK: Seems like the weather won’t change very much for Saturday and Sunday; if anything storms will be fewer in number, and highs will be around 90 degrees. Welcome to meteorological summer in Alabama, which begins Sunday.

AT THE BEACH: Sunny days and fair nights through tomorrow from Panama City to Gulf Shores. Highs on the immediate coast in the 80s, with low 90s possible inland. A few scattered showers and storms are possible Wednesday through the weekend, but still expect about 7 to 9 hours of sunshine each day. The sea water temperature early this morning at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 79 degrees.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will produce this week’s show not tonight, but Thursday night at 8:30p CT.
