Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Weather Radio Programming

| April 28, 2014 @ 11:00 am

It might seems daunting to program your Weather Radio, but if you have one of the white Midland Weather Radios, it is really quite easy to do. Charles Daniel has put together a video which walks you through the programming of one of these radios. You can see the video below.

ABC 33/40 – Birmingham News, Weather, Sports

If you have the very latest Midland Weather Radio, it does not require you to know the FIPS or SAME code for each county. You just pick USA, Alabama, and then the county name. You can get the FIPS code from ABC 3340 with this link which also includes the video.

As James has pointed out, there is no need for fear, but there is a need for preparedness. Having a plan, being aware of conditions around you, and having a reliable means for receiving weather warnings are keys to getting through the storms ahead safely.
