February Precipitation Totals

| March 3, 2014 @ 1:22 pm

After a January of well below average rainfall totals across Alabama, we picked up some very beneficial precip during the month of February. We had a range across the state from 3.22 inches along the Dallas/Autauga County line to 9.35 inches along the Gulf Coast Region of the state, specifically over southern Baldwin County.

The precip came in all forms throughout the month. Rain, sleet, snow, freezing rain, and hail all occurred in Alabama during the month. Most locations were near monthly averages, but as most of us were well below average after January, many areas are running a bit of a rainfall deficit for 2014. The good news is that as we head into March, our average rainfall totals ramp up as March tends to be one, if not the wettest month of the year for many locations, especially in Central Alabama.
