FRIGID MORNING: For some, this is the coldest morning so far this year, colder than January 7. Not not for everybody. Here is a round-up of temperatures just before sun-up. These are not official lows, and some places might drop another degree or two.

WARMING TREND AHEAD: With a strong January sun, we expect a high in the low 40s today, and road conditions where snow came down Tuesday will improve greatly as the ice/snow melts away. Tomorrow will be partly sunny with a high in the low to mid 50s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: While there will be an increase in clouds, Saturday should be mostly dry with a high in the low 60s… just a slight risk of a shower. Showers are more likely on Sunday with a high around 60 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: The GFS shows a significant storm with a good round of showers and storms late Tuesday, Tuesday night, and possibly into early Wednesday morning. We are actually in the warm sector of the storm system, and strong thunderstorms are very well possible Tuesday night, but the severe weather parameters are less than impressive for now.
