Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Hello Sunshine

| December 10, 2013 @ 11:08 am

After seeing a lot of reports on social media about an orange ball in the sky, I had to step outside to see what it was. To my surprise it was the sun, and joining it, a rich cobalt blue sky.

After what has seemed like an eternity of day after day of clouds and rain, the sun, as we promised, has returned to Alabama today. The sky over northwestern Alabama has cleared and the clearing line is approaching the Birmingham Metro. The darker areas on the image below show where the sun is out. All areas in white remain socked in with clouds, but that will be changing.

The sky will continue to clear from northwest to southeast across the state throughout the rest of today. Don’t be deceived by the sunshine, it will remain a cold a blustery day across the state. Temperatures across Central Alabama will only make it into the lower 40s for highs.
