Very Mild & Showery
December is feeling more like May as a very warm and moist air mass is in place across the Southeast.
Most locations are seeing temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s today, with scattered showers. These showers will persist off and on all day. Showers will be moving from southwest to northeast across the state and there showers are likely to form anywhere at anytime across the state today.
Heading into the afternoon, there could be a chance to see a few thunderstorms as a front approaches the state. Some of the storms could be strong and perhaps there could be an isolated severe storm.
A strong cold front passed through Memphis this morning. Before the front moved through, the temperatures were in the lower 70s, since frontal passage, the temps have dropped into the low 50s, and will continue to fall all day. The front is now positioned across northern Mississippi between Memphis and Tupelo. That front is slowly creeping towards Alabama and will be bringing much colder weather to the state.
