He has won 8 Emmy Awards and has been the Best Weathercaster in the Sooner State 13 times, more than any other Oklahoma meteorologist. He received a special recognition from the Oklahoma Governor after the May 3, 1999 tornadoes and he was given the Lee Allen Smith Spirit of Oklahoma Award in September as a result of his coverage of this year’s May tornadoes.
