Mostly Sunny and Very Warm

| September 7, 2013 @ 4:27 pm

Most areas across Central Alabama have seen an abundance of sunshine today. Mostly sunny skies have been widespread with only a few fair weather cumulus clouds. A look at the latest satellite image proves this as the late summer sun is shining strong today. The main thunderstorm activity today is across the Florida Peninsula and southeast Louisiana as evident by the brighter white clouds. The mostly clear skies will hang around through the evening and into the overnight hours.

Underneath those mostly sunny skies, the afternoon temperatures have warmed into the upper 80s and lower 90s. Most observations locations across the state and Southeast are seeing similar conditions. We will begin to see those temperatures start to fall once the sun sets and through the overnight hours. Most areas will have overnight lows in the mid 60s again tonight.

With the continued mostly sunny skies the next few hours, it will remain warm this evening, but any outdoor activities you have planned will not be impacted by adverse weather.
