Summer-ish Weekend Shaping Up

| September 7, 2013 @ 2:10 pm

Looks like a summer-like weekend for Central Alabama for the first full weekend of September. At 2 pm, temperatures across the region were in the upper 80s and lower 90s. The average high based on data at Birmingham showed a typical high of 88, so we are a tad warmer than usual.

Radar remained clear across Alabama at 2 pm, too, with just some low puffy cumulus clouds dotting the sky along with some passing cirrus. Only two showers I could find were between Pensacola and Crestview in the Florida Panhandle.

The sounding this morning showed a deep dry layer from roughly about 900 millibars to over 300 millibars.

Sunday looks like a repeat of today and a good possibility we remain dry on Monday, too.
