Rainfall Totals for August
It was a very wet June and July for much of Alabama, and August was no different from the rest of the summer. The folks at the NWS Office in Birmingham have mapped out the rainfall totals for the entire state for August. These precip totals varied from just over an inch west of Huntsville and near Greensboro, to over a fifteen inches of rain along the Fort Morgan Peninsula on the Gulf Coast.
September has started off wet for many locations, but as we head through the rest of the week, dry air will be moving and and most areas will have an opportunity to dry out.
