Check out these 3 p.m. temperatures across Central Alabama.

The sun has broken out over western sections, but over eastern sections, a low overcast, occasional drizzle and an easterly wind has limited readings to near 70F.

Looking at the record cool maximum temps for today and tomorrow from the National Weather Service:

LOCATION RECORD LOW MAX TEMP FOR 8/17

BIRMINGHAM 76 SET IN 1973
TUSCALOOSA 79 SET IN 2009
MONTGOMERY 76 SET IN 1892
ANNISTON 80 SET IN 1885

LOCATION RECORD LOW MAX TEMP FOR 8/18

BIRMINGHAM 77 SET IN 1911
TUSCALOOSA 83 SET IN 2012
MONTGOMERY 74 SET IN 1897
ANNISTON 73 SET IN 2011

The high at Anniston looks like it will easily set a new record cool maximum high for the 17th.

Birmingham will probably set a new record unless the sun makes a miracle comeback.

Montgomery will probably as well.

Tuscaloosa will likely exceed their record for the date.
