An absolutely beautiful Mother’s Day is in progress across Central Alabama, with near total sunshine and temperatures were warming through the 60s, heading for a rendezvous with highs right around 70F.  Winds are out of the northwest at 10-15 mph with low humidity, providing a refreshing quality to the air.

A few patches of cirrostratus clouds were streaming from west to east across South Central Alabama, but they should continue to edge southward through the afternoon.

Tonight will be a chilly night, with lows right around 40F.  Normally colder locations will drop into the 30s as winds go calm under clear skies.  There could be a little light frost in low-lying areas.

RINSE, REPEAT:  High pressure will remain in control of Alabama’s weather through midweek, with near total sunshine.  Highs will be in the lower 70s Monday, upper 70s on Tuesday and will be back in the 80s by Wednesday.
