Golf Ball Sized Hail at Hackleburg

Golf ball sized hail was reported at Hackleburg ahort time ago.

There is an even more impressive hail core now crossing I-22 between Bexar and Hamilton. You can see that in the VIL panel in the lower left hand quadrant of the image.

Red on the hydrometeor classification algorithm shows were the radar thinks there is hail. This is one of the new dual-pol radar products.

The orange boxes are storm reports.

Large hail will continue to be a big threat through the afternoon hours with all of these storms. Damaging winds will also be a possibility and we can’t rule out an isolated tornado with the stronger storms.
