CALM DAYS IN THE WEATHER OFFICE: Still looks like not a drop of rain for Alabama through the end of next week, with mostly sunny days and fair nights. Temperatures will ease up into the low to mid 80s tomorrow and Saturday… but the humidity levels will remain very low.

A cold front will pass through the state in dry fashion Saturday night, and bring down a new surge of cool, dry air for Sunday. Highs Sunday and Monday will drop back into the 70s, and there is a good chance we visit the 40s early Monday morning. Bottom line is that we will continue to enjoy some great early fall weather for a while.

We should point out that Saturday is the “official” beginning of fall; the equinox comes at 9:49 a.m. CDT, as the sun will be directly over the equator and we have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness.

FINE FOOTBALL WEATHER: Maybe the best weekend for football so far this year. Friday night high school football and college ball on Saturday will have incredible weather. For the high school games tonight and tomorrow night, the sky will be clear with temperatures falling into the 60s by the second half. Light jackets might even be needed by some after halftime for the high school games.

Alabama will host Florida-Atlantic at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. The sky will be clear; temperatures will fall from near 83 degrees at kickoff into the 70s by the fourth quarter.

Auburn will host LSU at 6:00; clear weather is the story at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The temperatures will fall from near 80 degrees at kickoff to the upper 60s by the final whistle.

UAB will travel to Columbus to play Ohio State Saturday (11:00 a.m. kickoff). There is a small risk of a shower during the first quarter of the game, otherwise the day will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 60s during the game.

BEACH FORECAST: With few tourist and still very warm waters, mid 80s in most locations, this is a great time of year to head down to the beach for a late season getaway. Picture perfect weather all long the Northern Gulf Coast as temps should be in the mid 80s during the day and lower 70s at night, but with out all the humidity.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
