Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Pickens County

| September 3, 2012 @ 9:27 pm

Aliant Bank is a proud sponsor of AlabamaWX.com!

We keep naming the same counties unfortunately.

That is a very impressive storm over Pickens County. Torrential rain, incredible lightning, small hail and the potential for winds of 60 mph accompany the storm.

Please, please, please do not be driving in the affected areas. We don’t want anyone driving into high water tonight. Flooding is widespread.

Here are the two flash flood warnings. There is also an Areal Flood Warning that doesn’t show on this graphic. It is for Hale and Pickens Counties.

Look at the gray, white and magenta colors on this map of accumulated rainfall. Flooding is likely occurring in all these areas.
