Mississippi Storms Weakening

| September 1, 2012 @ 11:22 pm

The storms over northern Mississippi have weakened tonight and there are no warnings in Mississippi at this time.

There still is a severe thunderstorm watch for the northern tier of counties in Mississippi.

Storms extend from near Corinth to New Albany to east of Oxford with an isolated storm approaching Batesville.

All of the activity is pushing east and slowly weakening. It could hold together enough to affect mainly northwestern counties including Franklin, Colber and Lauderdale, but we will be monitoring to make sure that it doesn’t get down into Marion County.

More storms look likely for Sunday afternoon and Sunday night across Central Alabama.
