Severe Storms to Our Northwest

| September 1, 2012 @ 9:02 pm

A powerful band of storms is rotating eastward over southern Arkansas, northwestern Mississippi and western Tennessee tonight. The storms have lots of warnings on them and have produced widespread wind damage.

Severe thunderstorm and tornado watches cover the area southeast of the low center that it the remnant of Isaac. There is also a slight risk severe weather outlook down into northern Mississippi to the Northwest Corner of Alabama.

The storms are pushing east southeast, but weakening as they go. The RPM model indicates that they will weaken before reaching Northwest Alabama. But we will be watching. Stay tuned.

More storms are likely tomorrow afternoon and night across Alabama.
