Severe Thunderstorm Warning : Lee/Macon/Russell 3:00 PM
Thunderstorms have fired this afternoon in the deeper moisture over the southeastern half of Alabama. They are garden variety summer storms. They will pack a punch with heavy rain, lightning, some hail and the potential for damaging winds from downbursts.
The strongest storm is between Auburn and Society Hill, moving south.
Winds gusted to 37 mph at Auburn when the storms were in that area. Dime sized hail was reported at Smiths Station.
