New Slight Risk Includes Parts of Alabama

The SPC has extended the slight risk on the 3 p.m. outlook into extreme eastern Alabama.

It now includes Clay, Randolph, Tallapoosa and Chambers Counties.

The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Clay County but continues for Talladega County.

At 3:05, the storm core was near Sycamore, heading toward Winterboro. Be alert for damaging winds and certainly for large hail. Hail to the size of golfballs was reported in the city of Talladega at 2:55.

A strong storm is moving north northeast across Birmingham as well. It extends from The Summit back south southwest into northern Shelby County.

Very heavy rain, small hail and gusty winds will accompany the storm up I-459 toward Liberty Park, Irondale and Trussville.
