Dangerous Situation for Wichita

The NWS has issued a tornado warning for Sedgwick County, KS, including the City of Wichita.

The large wedge tornado is now over Harper County south of Conway Springs. It has passed Argonia. The power is out in Argonia.

Numerous spotters, chasers and law enforcement representatives are on the tornado.

If you are reading this in Wichita take shelter now!

Note the catastrophic tag in this tornado emergency message just issued for Conway Springs.

TORNADO WAS LOCATED 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF CONWAY SPRINGS…AND MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

HAZARD…DEADLY TORNADO.

IMPACT…THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. YOU COULD BE KILLED IF
NOT UNDERGROUND OR IN A TORNADO SHELTER. COMPLETE
DESTRUCTION OF ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOODS IS LIKELY. MANY WELL
BUILT HOMES AND BUSINESSES WILL BE COMPLETELY SWEPT FROM
THEIR FOUNDATIONS. DEBRIS WILL BLOCK MOST ROADWAYS. MASS
