Tornado Damage in Tennessee Valley

| March 2, 2012 @ 9:42 am

Two areas of concern in North Alabama right now.

One storm that has produced a confirmed tornado between Athens and Harvest is now just east of Harvest. It has a mean hook echo and debris signature on ARMOR radar. It is just west of Meridianville and will pass near that community and near Hazel Green.

Law enforcement reports tornado now near Meridianville.

New tornado warning southwest of the first storm for a second tornado that may be forming in the Tanner/Athens area. Strong rotation indicated on this storm as well. This possible tornado will pass along a similar track to the first one, toward Harvest, remaining north of Madison and the city of Huntsville.

Our old friend Jason Simpson is covering the storms, with live streaming now at https://www.whnt.com.

Our other old friend Mike Wilhelm is on the storm near Athens.
