Severe Thunderstorm Watch Canceled for Calhoun, Cleburne, Jefferson, and St. Clair Counties

The National Weather Service has canceled Severe Thunderstorm Watch #136 for the following counties in Central Alabama, effective immediately as of before 11:00 PM CDT on Thursday evening:

  • Calhoun County
  • Cleburne County
  • Jefferson County
  • St. Clair County

This includes the cities of: Anniston, Birmingham, Hoover, Heflin, Jacksonville, Moody, and Pell City.

Storms in these areas have weakened or moved out, and the risk of additional severe weather has diminished. No further warnings are expected for these counties tonight.

Reminder: Severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect for other parts of Central and East Central Alabama through 11:00 PM CDT.
