Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expanded – April 10, 2025

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expanded to Include 4 More Counties

The National Weather Service has extended Severe Thunderstorm Watch #136 to include an additional 4 counties in east central Alabama. The watch now remains in effect for 26 counties total across Central Alabama until 11:00 PM CDT.

? Newly Added Counties (as of 9:00 PM CDT):

  • Elmore
  • Lee
  • Macon
  • Russell

This includes the cities of Auburn, Opelika, Phenix City, Millbrook, Wetumpka, and Tuskegee.

? Previously Included Counties:

Autauga, Bibb, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.

Reminder: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe storms capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Stay alert, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and be prepared to take action if a warning is issued for your area.
