Tornado Watch Now In Effect For North and Northwest Alabama Until 5am

| March 30, 2025 @ 11:07 pm

The SPC has issued a tornado watch for portions of northern and northwestern Alabama. The watch will go until 5am this morning. A few tornadoes will be possible, along with the threat for damaging winds of 60-70mph, and some large hail as well. Thunderstorms are expected to reach northwest Alabama very early this morning. Since this is an overnight-early morning event, please be extra weather aware and ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.

While much of central Alabama is not included in this watch, its likely a new tornado watch will be issued later this morning for much of central and even southern Alabama. So just because you are not in a watch yet, doesn’t mean you don’t have a risk of severe weather.
