Dense Freezing Fog Advisory Issued For Portions Of Northern Alabama Until 6am CST Tuesday

| January 27, 2025 @ 10:21 pm

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has upgraded the previously issued special weather statement to a dense freezing fog advisory for portions of northern and northeastern Alabama including the following counties: Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, and Marshall. This is in effect until 6am CST Tuesday.

Within the dense freezing fog advisory, elevated surfaces are expected to obtain a thin layer of ice accumulation, which could make untreated secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses slick in some places. In addition, visibility could drop to 1/4 mile or less particularly in the valleys and near bodies of water.

If you are traveling in these areas, please exercise caution. Slow down, use headlights, and allow extra time to get to your destination. Be aware that wet surfaces may actually be icy despite just appearing wet.
