NWS Confirms EF-1 Tornado Last Night in Lamar County
EF-1 damage was observed in western Lamar County last night southwest of Vernon near Lampkin Road and CR-34.
The full survey should be available in the morning according to John DeBlock.
Additional surveys wll be conducted tomorrow.

…Preliminary Storm Survey Schedule for Monday…
The National Weather Service office in Birmingham AL was able to
conduct a survey of storm damage in Lamar County from Saturday
Night storms. The data is still be reviewed, but we can confirm
EF-1 tornado damage near the intersection of CR34 and Lumpkin Road
at around 9:37 PM last night. We hope to have the full results of
the survey available tomorrow morning. Our apologies for the
delay in getting complete results out to you.
For Monday…we will be sending out two survey teams.
Team 1 will survey damage in Lowndes, Montgomery, and Macon
counties.
Team 2 will survey damage in Shelby and St. Clair counties.
These surveys are in relation to the severe thunderstorms that
moved through the area on December 28 and 29.
We will share information regarding the damages at the above
locations as they become available with further Public Information
Statements.
