Sunday 1 p.m. Update: Mostly Dry This Week and Trending Colder

| December 29, 2024 @ 1:03 pm

A very nice day is in progress across Alabama with a mix of fairly thick stratocumulus clouds and some bright blue sky over the northern half of the state, with near total sunshine over the state. All rain exited the state several hours ago. The nearest rain to Alabama is a few light showers over southern Tennessee in the wraparound moisture from low pressure over the Great Lakes.

Highs this afternoon will look like this:

Temperatures over the next several days will be trending downward, with some really cold air lurking out in voodoo territory (towards the end of the week two forecast period). But the Euro backed off of its idea of a big snow around the 9th and 10th. Bummer, snow fans.

Here are readings over the next 12 days from the National Blend of Models:

There is a slight chance for a light showers over northern sections tomorrow evening, but otherwise, the northern and central parts of the state should be dry until next next Saturday night and Sunday.
