| December 29, 2024 @ 1:04 am

The SPC has issued a new tornado watch for SE Alabama (As well as a large part of Georgia and the Florida panhandle) effective until 9am this morning. This watch includes places like Enterprise, Dothan, and Eufaula, where severe storms could linger through 7 or 8am. The line of storms currently stretches from Gadsden to Alexander City to Montgomery to near Luverene. East of this line, remains a risk of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

If you are west of this line, including the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa metro areas, you are given the all clear and the tornado watch has been canceled. Light to moderate rainfall will continue for several hours behind the line of storms, but once the line passes you, your risk of severe weather will end.
