| December 28, 2024 @ 7:45 pm

The National Weather Service in Mobile, AL, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Baldwin County, effective until 8:30 PM CST. At 7:42 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles east of Alabama Port, or 9 miles southwest of Point Clear, moving east at 25 mph. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. Radar has indicated the storm’s intensity, and these conditions may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

The storm is expected to impact several areas, including Fairhope, Elberta, Summerdale, Robertsdale, Foley, Magnolia Springs, Point Clear, Bon Secour, and Silverhill. Additionally, torrential rainfall accompanying the storm may lead to flash flooding, making driving through flooded roadways hazardous.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building for protection. Avoid driving through flooded areas, as water may be deeper than it appears. Stay tuned to local media or weather alerts for updates and be prepared to act quickly if conditions worsen.
