| December 28, 2024 @ 7:05 pm

The SPC has issued a mesoscale discussion for much of central and northern Alabama indicating that a new tornado watch will be needed at some point this evening to address the incoming severe squall line over Mississippi. They indicate that there is an 80% chance that a tornado watch will be issued, and it will include a large portion of central and northern Alabama as instability increases in an already strongly sheared environment favorable for severe weather and tornadoes.
