Preview of Episode 985: The NWS Buddy System!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  It is Monday and you know what that means….It’s WeatherBrains time! Tonight we welcome several National Weather Service (NWS) employees who will weigh in on an initiative rolled out last year.  It is called the NWS Buddy System.  This program implemented at a local office focuses on pairing a willing, existing team member – a Buddy – with a newly hired individual to provide practical, cultural, social and emotional support for approximately six months following their selection by the hiring official. Mental health has become a more prominent issue in the weather community and a program like this helps tremendously!
