WIND ADVISORY Posted For Much of Central and Northern Alabama This Afternoon

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a WIND ADVISORY, effective until 6pm this evening. Sustained winds of 10-20mph with gusts up to 40mph are expected. This wind advisory includes the following counties: Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, and Lee.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has also issued a WIND ADVISORY, and is also in effect until 6pm this evening. Here, sustained winds of around 20mph are expected, with gusts of 35-45mph possible. This wind advisory includes the following counties: Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb, and Cullman.

Winds of this magnitude, while not damaging, could blow around light unsecured outdoor objects such as lawn furniture and holiday decorations. Be sure to tie anything down that could be blown around by the wind.
