Tropical Storm Sara Finally Moving Along, Although Still at a Snails Pace!

| November 16, 2024 @ 6:15 pm

As of the 6pm intermediate advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Sara now has sustained winds of 45mph, with higher gusts. She is moving west at about 5mph, so just slowly crawling along. Unfortunately, this has resulted in catastrophic flash floods and land slides in Honduras where more than 20 inches of rain has fallen. Sara is expected to dissipate by early Monday morning. While no tropical storm or hurricane is expected to form as a result of Sara, her remnants may still bring rounds of heavy rain and some gusty winds to parts of Florida later in the week. No tropical activity is expected behind Sara for at least the next 7 days.
