Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 Forms in the Western Caribbean Sea
The National Hurricane Center has initialized advisories on what is now being designated as Potential Tropical Cyclone number 19, located over the western Caribbean Sea. PTC 19 is expected to intensify into a tropical storm Thursday afternoon, before making landfall in Mexico early next week. Uncertainty remains in the track and intensity after that, but its likely that soon to be Sara will intensify into a hurricane in the southern Gulf early next week. Once a low level defined circulation develops, model data will improve, and confidence will increase.
