Alabama Winter Weather Awareness Week runs from November 10-15!  The NWS offices across the state in partnership with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency will highlight a myriad of winter weather topics including preparation and safety.  We will take some time this week at Alabama WX to highlight these topics as well!

NOAA issued their U.S. Winter Outlook on October 17, produced by the Climate Prediction Center. A developing La Nina pattern is expected to guide the upcoming winter across the country. This outlook is for the period of December 2024 through February 2025.

Drier and warmer than normal weather is generally expected across the Southeastern U.S.  This is not great news as we continue to see worsening drought conditions across the state.
