NADINE MOVING INLAND ACROSS BELIZE. HEAVY RAINS AND TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS IMPACTING BELIZE AND THE YUCATAN.

Location: 17.6N 88.5W, about 20 miles WNW of Belize City and 65 miles SSW of Chetumal, Mexico
Max Winds: 50 mph
Movement: West at 8 mph
Pressure: 1003 mb
Watches & Warnings:

Tropical Storm Warning: Belize City to Cancun, including Cozumel.

Discussion: Nadine is moving westward and will track across Belize, northern Guatemala, and southern Mexico through Sunday. Winds may weaken as it moves inland, with the storm likely dissipating by late Sunday. Tropical storm-force winds extend 195 miles from the center.

Rainfall: Expect 4-8 inches, with isolated areas seeing over 12 inches, leading to possible flash flooding.

Winds: Tropical storm conditions will persist in the warning areas this afternoon. Minor coastal flooding is also possible.

Movement: West at 12 mph

Discussion: Oscar is moving west and will slow down, shifting west-southwest in the next few days. Winds of 80 mph may strengthen slightly today before weakening next week. Hurricane-force winds extend 5 miles from the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 45 miles.

Hazards:

Winds: Hurricane conditions in warning areas tonight, tropical storm conditions starting this afternoon.

Rain: 2-4 inches, with isolated amounts up to 6 inches, expected across the Turks and Caicos, southeastern Cuba, and the Southeastern Bahamas through Tuesday.

Storm Surge: 2-4 feet of coastal flooding, with large, destructive waves, expected in the Turks and Caicos.
