Tropical Storm Nadine

Tropical Storm Nadine is about to make landfall near Belize City, bringing heavy rain and tropical storm conditions to parts of Belize and the Yucatán Peninsula. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph, and the system is moving west at 8 mph.

Tropical storm warnings remain in effect from Belize City to Cancun, including Cozumel. Nadine will weaken after moving inland and is expected to dissipate by late Sunday. Widespread rainfall of 4 to 8 inches, with isolated amounts over 12 inches, is expected across northern Belize, Guatemala, and southern Mexico.

Tropical Storm Oscar

Tropical Storm Oscar has formed east of the Turks and Caicos Islands, with sustained winds of 40 mph. It is moving west at 13 mph, and tropical storm warnings are in effect for the Turks and Caicos, southeastern Bahamas, and parts of eastern Cuba.

Oscar is expected to strengthen slightly over the next day before stabilizing. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated areas seeing up to 6 inches, are expected in these regions through Tuesday. Tropical storm conditions should reach the warning areas tonight.

The rest of the tropics are quiet for now.
