KEY POINTS:
1. Rapid intensification is expected overnight tonight and through the day tomorrow. Right now, the NHC is calling for major hurricane status by tomorrow night, with the expected strength at landfall being within the category 3 level.
2. This has the potential to be a devastating storm for Central Florida, and the impacts will likely be felt by millions of people across the state. Storm surge is a large concern, as it will lead to flooding in areas around the coast.
3. Other than the information above, most official messaging regarding Milton remains the same as that from the 4pm CDT NHC advisory. A more in depth discussion will be released later tonight.

EVACUATIONS:
A few areas in Central Florida have already announced mandatory evacuations beginning tomorrow (Monday). Please listen to local officials regarding planning/evacuations if you are located in an impact area. For more information, please visit: www.floridadisaster.org/evacuation-orders/

ALABAMA IMPACTS:
Right now, the only threat to the Alabama coastline are dangerous swells produced by Milton. High surf and increased rip currents can be caused by large swells. Exercise caution if you plan on getting in the ocean during the next few days.

The next full advisory will come out later tonight. Stay tuned for a breakdown of that update.
