Just After Midday, It’s Warm & Dry Across North/Central Alabama

| October 5, 2024 @ 12:54 pm

Just before 1pm, skies across much of North/Central Alabama were sunny with warm temperatures. The southeastern corner of the area has some cloud cover, but no rain is expected at this point. Temperatures were in the lower to mid 80s across the area, with Demopolis being the warm spot at 85 degrees, and Troy was the cool spot at 80 degrees. In Birmingham, the temperature was 84 degrees, which is very nice for the football game out at Protective Life Stadium for the matchup between UAB and Tulane.

Skies should remain mostly sunny across North/Central Alabama through the remainder of the afternoon with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s, except for the southeastern parts will stay in the lower 80s due to some stubborn clouds. For tonight, skies will be partly to mostly clear with lows in the 60s.

For much of the area on Sunday, the weather will be pretty similar with mainly clear skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s. The exception will be the southeastern parts of the area where some clouds are expected, and some showers may move into those locations from the now strengthening Tropical Storm Milton in the Gulf of Mexico as it moves toward Florida. Highs will be held back into the lower 80s in those locations.

For the update on the tropics, a post will be out just after 1pm with the latest news.
