Light Rain Continues to Fall Across North Alabama; A Quiet Night to Come

| September 29, 2024 @ 4:27 pm

For the folk in North Alabama, it’s been a rather dreary day with drizzly rain falling all day. Meanwhile, areas to the south have seen nothing but sunshine and maybe a few clouds. Here is a snapshot of current radar imagery:

We’ve started to see some rain-producing clouds move into the areas between Montgomery and Birmingham (Central Alabama) this afternoon as well. This should be the farthest south we see rain today. This rain will continue to move east at a steady pace through the evening hours tonight.

Overnight tonight is looking to be a quiet night. We will have a few lingering showers in the north, but other than that it’ll be a partly cloudy night under a waning crescent moon- so it could be extra dark at times. Winds will be 5 mph. Our overnight lows tonight will be in the low 60s for most of the state, with upper 60s expected in our coastal areas.
