Mid-Morning Look at Weather Conditions Today
Right now, most of the state is feeling quite comfortable with temperatures sitting in the upper-60s to lower 70s. The coast is a little warmer, with temperatures nearing 75 currently. Areas to the north of the state are seeing cloudy skies, and even some very light rainfall in some spots. The rest of the state has bright blue skies with plenty of sunshine to start the day.
Current Temperatures
We’ll warm up some today, especially in South Alabama. A warm-up close to 90 degrees is expected for Mobile, Evergreen and Dothan. Mid-80s are in store for Montgomery and Troy. Right around 80 degrees for Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, and mid to upper-70s for Cullman, Huntsville and Florence. Basically, we are expecting the warmest temperatures today to stay to the south, and cooler temperatures to the north.
Rain chances today are possible in the northern half of the state. We should not see any downpours, mainly just light rain showers at times. While the biggest rain chances are for areas north of Birmingham, we could see a shower or two as far south as Alexander City. Winds across the state will stay between 5 and 10 mph, sometimes gusting to 15 mph.
With the cloudy conditions and rain showers expected in our northern areas, it’ll be a pretty humid day. However, our more southern areas will get a break from the humidity! Dewpoints across the state will remain in the mid-60s throughout the day.
