Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Wind and Hail for Parts of Marion and Lamar Counties Until 5 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Central Marion County in northwestern Alabama…
Northeastern Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 408 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Detroit, or
12 miles west of Hamilton, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated. At 3:52 PM CDT, quarter-size hail was
reported near Smithville, Mississippi.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Hamilton, Guin, Brilliant, Detroit, Weston, Twin, Henson Springs,
Pearces Mill, Rankin Fite Airport, Byrd, Bexar, Marion County
Public Lake, and Pikeville.
