WeatherBrains Episode 974! Live from the National Weather Association Annual Meeting

| September 16, 2024 @ 3:51 pm

WeatherBrains Panelist Kim Klockow-McClain and James Ayledott are at the National Weather Association (NWA) Annual Meeting this week, which is being held in Irving, TX.  They will be leading the show tonight from the RON (Research to Operations Nexus) Meetup.

From the NWA Website:  “The National Weather Association’s (NWA’s) Research to Operations Nexus (RON) Meetup sponsored by the AMS provides the opportunity for an interactive discussion between research and operational meteorologists, modelers, hydrologists, social scientists, broadcasters and students. During the event, groups rotate through a number of tables to discuss a variety of opportunities for sharing ongoing research and operational needs that could benefit forecast and warning operations as well as inspire research. The stations will include a wide range of topics such as Winter Weather, Supercells and Tornadoes, Communicating Risk, Probabilistic Forecasting, Impact-Based Decision Support Services, AI/Machine Learning, etc. The goal is simple: Build and develop new relationships based on shared interests that span beyond traditional barriers between research and operations. The meetup will have ten tables that participants can rotate through to share ideas during three separate interactive discussion periods over a two-hour period.”

We hope for a lively discussion with a steady stream of guests sharing on a myriad of weather-related topics!  It is always a fun and interesting show when we are LIVE from the RON!

You can watch WeatherBrains LIVE every Monday night at 8pm ET/7pm CT on our YouTube channel.  Playback is available the next day on our website and all your favorite podcast apps!
