Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Russell County until 6am

This storm we are monitoring over Russell County has now reached severe limits. The potential for quarter size hail and 60 mile per hour winds southwest of Fort Moore/Lawson Army Air Fld.  A tornado tag on this warning. There is a potential a brief tornado could form and that is being monitored.  The storm is moving northeast at 25 mph.  Please be weather aware this morning.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Russell County in southeastern Alabama…

* Until 600 AM CDT.

* At 534 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles southwest
of Fort Moore/Lawson Army Air Fld, or 15 miles south of Phenix
City, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Fort Mitchell Activity Center, Uchee Creek, and Fort Mitchell.
