Tornado Watch Down to Three Counties…Watching Spinnies

The SPC has downgraded us to a marginal risk for the rest of the night.

According to John DeBlock at the National Weather Service Birmingham, there are still some very low topped rotating showers. Here is the radar:

The primary areas of concern now are Chilton, Autauga, Lowndes.

Therefore, the National Weather Service in Birmingham, AL has now canceled Tornado Watch 671 for the following counties in Central Alabama: Bibb, Dallas, Perry, Tuscaloosa, Coosa, Elmore, Jefferson, Montgomery, and Shelby. This cancellation includes the cities of Brent, Centreville, Marion, Selma, Tuscaloosa, Uniontown, Alabaster, Birmingham, Columbiana, Hoover, Millbrook, Montgomery, Pelham, Rockford, and Wetumpka.

Tornado Watch 671 remains in effect until 10 PM CDT for three counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Chilton, and Lowndes. This includes the cities of Clanton, Fort Deposit, Lowndesboro, and Prattville.

We will continue to watch for spinning storms.

The flash flood watch continues for Central Alabama until midnight Friday evening.
