Radar Check: Flood Advisory for Portions of Lowndes and Montgomery Counties until 430pm

Seeing several areas of rain and thunderstorms lifting through parts of Alabama.  Solid band from Fayette through Tuscaloosa to Safford.  Another pocket of rain near Florence to just west of Huntsville.

Another area of heavy rain impacting the Montgomery area and a flood advisory in effect until 430pm.  Additional area of rain building to the southwest of Montgomery may move into the same areas receiving heavy rain now.  Please be careful if you are heading out the rest of the afternoon.


…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Lowndes and Montgomery.

* WHEN…Until 430 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 127 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Montgomery, Fort Deposit, Coosada, Pintlala, Hope Hull,
Snowdoun, Hyundai Motors Of Alabama, Dannelly Field,
Woodcrest, Davenport, Pinedale, Alabama State University,
Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama State Capitol, Montgomery
Riverwalk Stadium, Montgomery Zoo, Gunter Air Force Base,
Boylston, Eastdale Mall and Lagoon Park.
