Francine Becomes A Hurricane: Will Rapid Intensification Occur Now?
Air Force Hurricane Hunters found a central pressure of 980 millibars in now Hurricane Francine. The max flight level wind was 72 knots. The highest SFMR surface winds was 58 knots.
The plane did fly through all that really strong new convection north that seems to be near a new center.
The convection sems to be growing and expanding. Still not much lightning in the core though.
The NHC set the winds at 75 mph and central pressure at 982 millibars.
